Embarrassed?

Someone get these poor people a map and a geography class. And these people vote! I saw the Alamo and other National landmarks in the background so I’m guessing they’re in Texas, New York, Washington DC.

I didn’t know that Al Quaeda was a wing of a Masonic order.

To be fair I think they should challenge other people in developed countries, including Australia, to answer the same questions. I do want to know how many people actually got the answers right. Though, still, I fear the result.

I teach Global Issues and I’m not surprised by this answers. The dearth of international knowledge in the US is painfully immense.

When I was in the 6th grade, our teacher did a daily news quiz right before lunch. The group that finished first got to be the first to go to lunch. Sounds mundane, but it really motivated us to learn where things were and pay attention to issues shared in the news… but this was back when the news wasn’t so diluted with propaganda, repetitive jargon, and mindless drivel. I suppose teachers could do googlenews quests today.
